Tackling Antimicrobial Resistance

Our lab investigates how the mechanisms of gene regulation in bacteria shape the evolution of gene regulatory networks and applies that knowledge to tackle the problem of antimicrobial resistance. Our work involves generating promoter and transcription factor mutants and measuring the effects of those mutations of the expression levels of a fluorescence marker.

PhenoBooth+ offers an extremely quick and easy way to assess how successful mutant library creation has been. It is particularly effective in identifying mutants that differentially affect the expression of two or three fluorescence markers. PhenoBooth+ also provides an easy way to quantify the diversity of mutant libraries that we create.
