Create and screen vast microbial libraries at game-changing densities and speed.

ROTOR+ is a precision benchtop robot for easy, ultra-fast manipulation of high-density microbial arrays.

Miniaturise your experiments onto SBS plates containing 96, 384, 1536 or even 6144 colonies per plate to save on consumables.

Over 99% transfer efficiency across a range of model (S. cerevisiae, E. coli,
C. reinhardtii) and non-model organisms – even filamentous fungi.

1 in a million hit? Let ROTOR+ find your needle in a haystack in just one hour.

2,000+ happy microbiologists and counting.

Cloning resistant mutants en mass?
Trey Ideker and colleagues at the University of San Diego (Bean, et al., 2014) successfully used ROTOR to plate a mind blowing 24576 individual colonies on a single plate.
What’s more they achieved equal or better precision than alternative methods, revolutionising high-throughput screening.

What could you achieve?

Over 10 years ago, Dr Jane Usher’s lab took the leap and integrated ROTOR into their workflow.  The Usher lab performs high-throughput screening of genome wide gene deletion libraries to identify new gene targets and novel combinatorial therapies.

“We can go from liquid media to solid, solid to solid… we can do mating, we can do replicating… we’re able to do an entire library of SGA screening… it’s a massive workhorse for the entire lab.”

The lab group recently upgraded their ROTOR HDA to a ROTOR+.

“For scalability and high throughput the ROTOR+ has allowed us to phenotype
thousands of strains, which otherwise would not have been possible.”

Professor Joseph Schacherer
Strasbourg University, co-founder of the 1002 Yeast Genomes Project.
